Scuba diving is why most people come to Cozumel. If you don't dive or snorkel, then you may be happier at a resort hotel on the Mayan Riviera, which has nicer beaches.
Cozumel is very popular with cruise ships. In fact, there is at least one if not more, visiting almost every day. The ships dock during the day, and are usually gone by sunset. For this reason, we suggest visiting town during the late afternoon or early evening, to avoid the crowds.
There are no evening shows at this resort. In fact, it is kind of quiet, which everyone seems to like. There is usually music in the evening at the Arrecife restaurant. If you are longing for more nightlife, try going into town. There are also excellent restaurants and bars in town.
