On the Riviera Maya, 1 hour south of the Cancun Airport. About 20 minutes south of Playa del Carmen. This sprawling resort lies on an incredible stretch of white sand beach, in a more remote area, close to Tulum. Three miles from Akumal on Playa Kantenah.

Very popular, All-Inclusive resort, designed by an award winning architect. It has one of the largest "lake" swimming pools in the Riviera Maya. Family Friendly Jr Suites will sleep up to 5 persons. Mayan Suites for 2 adults only, offer an outside showers.

7 Restaurants. Buffet style with entrees cooked to order, and A-La-Carte, featuring International Steakhouse, Mediterranean, Mexican, Japanese. A coupon system is required for the a-la-carte restaurants, which require reservations. Guests staying 3-4 nights receive 1 coupon, 5-8 nights 2 coupons, 9-11 nights 3 coupons. Each coupon is good for one dinner reservation. Elegant dress code. Gentlemen wear slacks (no jeans). Shorts or sleveless t-shirts not permitted during dinner.

Two double beds or one king, marble floors and bathroom with tub/shower, hair dryer, make up mirror, mini-bar, safe, phone, satellite tv, coffee maker, ceiling fans, air conditioning, iron, patio or balcony. Junior Suites also have a queen sleeper sofa, and will take up to 5 persons. Cribs available. Most rooms garden/jungle view. Room Service. Mayan suites (for 2 adults only) have an outdoor shower in a walled garden.

Electric cart transportation is available to/from rooms and lobby. Persons susceptible to ear infections from swimming should bring hydrogen peroxide for use in the ear as a preventative measure. Families with small children will want their umbrella stroller.
Next door, they have built the Grand Palladium White Sands and Riviera Resort. This hotel shares the same beach as the Colonial/Kantenah. The White Sands & Riviera sits primarily on a rocky beach, but has a wonderful ocean front tidal pool, and a HUGE fresh water pool surrounded by lagoons with boat transportation! This is an excellent hotel for families and couples. The pools are great, and the dining choices are amongst the best available in an all-inclusive resort in Mexico.We highly recommend this resort!
