The Bahia Principe Akumal is the newest extension to the Bahia Principe Tulum. It has a separate lobby, and 485 additional suites. Although facilities are combined with the Bahia Principe Tulum, the Akumal section offers another large segmented lagoon pool, and a smaller beach. Transportation between the two hotels is provided by small "golf cart type vehicles".
